Issue
Custom platform logos that were previously uploaded and displayed correctly in the DataHub UI disappear after a version upgrade, reverting to default platform icons.
Solution
Note: For DataHub Cloud customers, infrastructure-level changes are managed by DataHub Support.
Re-upload custom platform logos:
- Navigate to Settings → Appearance → Platform Logos
- Upload logo files again for affected platforms
- Ensure logo files meet size and format requirements (PNG, SVG recommended)
Check if logos are persisted:
- Verify logos are stored in proper location (check with support for cloud)
- Self-hosted: logos may be in volume mounts or database
- Confirm logos survived upgrade by checking file system
Prevent logo loss in future upgrades:
- For self-hosted: ensure logo volume mounts are persistent
- Document custom logo files and locations
- Back up customization settings before upgrades
For cloud customers:
- Report missing logos to support immediately after upgrade
- Provide logo files to support for restoration
- Support can verify if logos need to be re-applied
Additional Notes
Test configurations in a development environment before applying to production. Always backup configurations before making changes.
