Issue
Users encountered multiple problems when working with subscriptions, including issues with creating subscriptions, managing notification preferences, and receiving subscription notifications. These problems affected the ability to stay informed about changes to important data assets.
You Might Be Asking:
- Why aren't I receiving subscription notifications?
- How do I manage my subscriptions?
- What types of subscriptions are available?
Solution
The subscription system has been comprehensively fixed to address: - Subscription creation and editing workflows - Notification delivery for email and Slack - Subscription inheritance and scope - Assertion-level subscription management
To create and manage subscriptions: 1. Navigate to any entity (dataset, dashboard, chart) 2. Click the "Subscribe" button 3. Choose notification channels (email, Slack) 4. Select events to monitor (metadata changes, assertions, incidents) 5. Save subscription preferences
For assertion-level subscriptions: - You can now subscribe to specific assertion pass/fail/error events - Configure separate notification settings per assertion - Manage subscriptions from the Assertions tab
Additional Notes
Fixed in version v0.3.13. This fix includes improvements to assertion-level subscriptions, allowing granular control over which assertion events trigger notifications. Slack subscriptions now work more reliably with the updated Slack integration.
